Color Studio Professional Pure Matt Lipsticks

I've been meaning to do this post for ages but haven't quite gotten the time since it's a lengthy one. The entire collection has a GAZILLION (60) shades out of which I own 10 :P By name, these are Pure Matt lipsticks so one can expect a good matte, long-lasting wear. But do the lipsticks come up to these expectations? Let's find out!

What the Company says

The high-performance lipstick formula is fused with a blend of Bamboo Extract, Shea Butter and Vitamin E. The unique Shea Butter moisture complex provides a creamy, non-drying, long-lasting color to indulge the lips. The velvety-smooth texture enriched with Bamboo Extract provides an emollient and soothing action to protect and hydrate the lips. Vitamin E eases the application of the lipstick by providing anti-aging and anti radical action for smooth and supple lips.

What I think

The lipsticks come in sturdy, black plastic square tube. They have a gold border towards the end where the lid comes off. They have Color Studio Professional written on them in white which gives the lipstick a super elegant feel. I just love the colour combo of black, gold and white! The older lipsticks don't have coloured stickers on the bottom, but the newer ones do. That makes it easy to choose colours when in a rush.

As far as the formula is concerned, these lipsticks are the matte-ist matte I've used after MAC's Retro Matte. I would definitely recommend exfoliation and applying a lipbalm underneath to ensure smooth application. They don't go on creamy, and require slight tugging. However, they are matte in it's truest sense without a hint of gloss or shine (which I am sooo happy about). The lipsticks lasts 6-7 hours easily, given you don't eat or drink. They leave behind a gorgeous, subtle stain when they wear off. The lipsticks have a light Vanilla scent to them which reminds me of the standard MAC lipsticks. This isn't over-powering and fades away upon application.

Shades

LtoR: Predator, Lust, Coco Rouge, Backstage

Predator is your typical cherry red
Lust is a pinky mauve
Coco Rouge is a cross between pink and brown
Backstage is a bright coral pink with orange undertones

LtoR: Show Stopper, Wicked, Ravishing

Show Stopper is a rosy red-pink. It has very fine silver glitter in it which I don't like. It isn't visible at the surface of a new tube, however, you can see it after using the lipstick twice/thrice
Wicked is a rusty red with brown undertones. It appears to be maroon on the lips
Ravishing is a bright peach with orange undertones

Top: Monsoon
Bottom LtoR: Viva Espana, Nirvana

Monsoon is a bright coral red
Viva Espana is a perfect MLBB shade. It is a soft rosy pink
Nirvana is a dark pink with specks of silver glitter which, again, I am not particularly fond of

Overall

I love these lipsticks a lot. Every time I am out for lipstick shopping I find myself picking up a shade or two from this collection (Hence, the ten lipsticks :P). They retail at Rs. 750 which is a pretty good price for their quality!
